Despite going to a different church, there are still some things that have stayed the same; things such as my required McDonald’s coffee on Sunday morning.  I get it honestly… my father taught me well.  In fact, this morning while in the drive thru line at McDonald’s, we noticed my dad just a few cars ahead of us.  It was all too easy…

Since I wasn’t driving and dad was distracted by ordering, I hopped out of the car and ran up on the passenger side.  My goal was to open the door very suddenly and yell something, but I had to settle for knocking very loudly and abruptly on the window since the door was locked.  Hehe… his words, “You scared the poop outta me…” Mission accomplished.

Good times on Sunday morning.

TheAlliedKid and I enjoy ourselves a little lunch here and there at Main Street in Cedarville.  And today, we enjoyed it even more…

As we were packing up to leave, we noticed a lot of commotion at the door of the women’s restroom.  The waitress and a mom and dad were all talking through the door… apparently to the little girl who was trapped inside.  Now, for the record, this door can be tricky… even Jaelbee vouched for that.  Anyway, they were all trying to tell the girl how to unlock the door, giving her instructions, etc.  Finally, another customer gets involved… a bit of a rough looking fellow but obviously concerned.  So there they were, four adults all trying to help this child.

After several minutes with no success, they decided to slip a screw driver under the door.  Okay, the girl is probably 6 years old, and what exactly is she going to do with a screwdriver???

Finally, after too much time had gone by, the cook from the back is called in to break the door down.  At this point, we were cashing out and I say, “Wow… you can’t pay for this kind of entertainment.”  Seriously, have any of you ever been present when there’s a door being broken down, just like on a TV show?  Well, the man checking us out looks right at me and says, “ya know that girl is terrified right now.”  And so I was properly chastised.  But c’mon, there were instructions to move to the back and wall and a man running and putting his shoulder into a door!  How is this not entertainment???

Well, all is well and the door was broken down and the girl was rescued.  As for me and TheAlliedKid, we quickly stepped outside and broke into much laughter.  And to be perfectly honest, I’m still laughing!
